Representing young performers for stage, classical theatre, film, commercials, TV and internet
Although Crooked House has been in existence since 1993 and we have been providing quality performance opportunities for young people (in the form of the internationally celebrated Kildare Youth Theatre, and our Young Actors' School) we have only in 2022 concentrated our efforts in providing a representative agency for young people.
We have a small number of focused, trained young teenagers and young people - aged 11 to 30 in the agency.
These young people vary in age and appearance, and are very natural performers. Some of the older ones are trained actors from European and Euro-Asian backgrounds who are spending a year training with us on international programmes.
Our team supports the young members in auditioning, rehearsing and taping for appearances. They will act as liason and chaperone if needed for film and TV.
We have the advantage of having worked closely with each member at weekly workshops and rehearsals. Many will have worked on at least 5 full-time projects with us, including productions of Shakespeare, new site-specific work, and new contemporary plays.
Some will also have had experience creating their own screen work and appearing in films and TV projects for others.
Many young people from Kildare Youth Theatre over the years have gained coveted places in RADA, LAMDA, Central School of Speech and Drama, Bristol Old Vic and other recognised actor training courses.
Our members and former members have featured in Sex Education (Netflix), Derry Girls, Normal People, Fair City, The Vikings, Vikings Valhalla, Being Human and Ripper Street.
